Don Sharma has built his career at the leading edge of innovation, and he continues that work at uLab Systems. From the start, he has focused on turning emerging technologies into practical business impact. He began coding AI algorithms as an undergraduate and has remained deeply engaged in the evolution of digital technology ever since.
Over the course of his career, Don has helped shape major technology shifts across multiple industries. He started in analog-to-digital circuit design, then applied that expertise to develop synthesis algorithms for semiconductor design. He contributed to the mobile phone revolution through work in static random-access memory and later led the commercialization of the first solid-state hard drives, now a core foundation of modern data centers. Recognizing the potential of LED technology early, he helped major lighting companies adopt LED solutions. He also played a key role in bringing automation to data center deployment and saw the coming impact of AI on the enterprise well before it became mainstream.
In 2019, Don co-founded Untwine.AI to help businesses build strong data foundations and apply AI to improve decision-making, streamline workflows, and unlock new opportunities for growth.
His experience spans a wide range of leadership and functional roles, including Software Engineering, Applications Engineering, Product Marketing, Business Development, and global executive leadership running Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Partnerships, and M&A. He has held positions at VMware, Renesas, New Energy, Synopsys, Cadence, and Advantest.
Don earned an MBA from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of Illinois.
